| When Man first began to build, he
watched Nature's performance and followed it. His ways rested easily in
the environment because the environment was his control and reference. He
lacked the power to do otherwise. His materials came from his surroundings
— the plants and animals, the rock and dirt. He converted the materials
into his tools and he learned: |

technology this association remained harmonious. |
